Reaching Pushkar after 1800 km in 38 hours

Pushkar, Monday, 15th November 2010

38 hours after leaving the hotel in Kolkata I arrived in the Bhola Hotel in Ajmer. And after almost 1800 km I’m on the other side of the subcontinent and while it’s already getting dark in Kolkata now−at half past six−the sun is still shining here or at least it isn’t dark yet because it was raining before and it’s cloudy.
I spent the night in Ajmer because I thought Pushkar’s hotels would be full due to the festival but as I found out today there’s plenty of free rooms in the hotel and so I checked into the Diamond Hotel today. Prices are really high though. For the Mela my room costs 300 Rs. afterwards it’ll be just 100 Rs.
And slowly I get used to my new camera. I like the zoom especially.

I’ll stay here for a week and then go back to Delhi on the 21st of November and then move back east to Guwahati, Assam’s capital. Then I’ll have a week in the north-east as I must enter Bangladesh at the 1st of December at the latest.
I’ll stay there for three or four weeks and then head back to Kolkata to fly to Myanmar hoping that it will still be quite after the election.
